SKIN 2003 part 2 index

A friend of mine said after viewing this photo: "Stephen, I think this is your best work because you move away from just photographing nude bodies to a serious concern for the construction and composition of elements whose origin happens to be the nude - a selective rather than an all-embracing view." As a theme, "the sacred and the profane" fascinates me, and extending this theme to nudes -- at the risk of over-pretentiousness -- can sometimes yield semi-erotic photos like this one. I leave to the viewer, however, to decide which element is "Heaven," and which "Earth" -- it says more about you than about me.
