What can I say about "Safe Stretch"? It is an image of rebirthing, exposing, yet hiding. It's a movie still, a video still, a performance snippet, a dance, a sculpture, a waking dream, a reference to safe sex, to life lived in the time of AIDS, germ warfare, test tube babies and bioengineering, extreme vulnerability, extreme protection. It is a glowing image of a female human being, illuminated, shimmering, surrounded by the rich velvety blackness of no-thing.
