Transcendental Frames Overview
Gallery

I think the most important thing that led me to make this piece is my fondness for the pencil. The pencil is always at the beginning, when working from idea to creation the pencil draws out the idea. The pencil has earned its importance. The pencil represents like exposed film, the latent image of the imagination. Additionally the pencil represents a link between the creative arts; writing & visual arts & architecture.

"Stimulus in Yellow" like the pencil was at the departure point, the beginning of the new series of artworks in this exhibit. The pencils all point up representing higher ideas and creativity. The pencils vary in height making a bar graph or pulse. The void framed in the middle creates a optical effect representing the pencils infinite possibilities. The pencils are all sharp and ready to be used. In addition the modern skyline is reminiscent in the shape of the pencil. To many people, with the computer moving more and more into our lives the pencil may seem like it is archaic, but I hold the belief that it has not lost any of it's importance at all.
